Kenya Citizenry Empowerment Programme (KCEP)
The Kenya Citizenry Empowerment Programme (KCEP) is an organisation whose mission is the eradication of corruption in Kenya, and the enhancement of sustainable economic growth. When we talk of corruption, we refer to the full breadth of the scourge as pertaining to petty corruption, political corruption and grand corruption.
Our methodology of operations is based on community education on civic duty, democracy and entrepreneurship. This is complemented by economic empowerment seeding awards. The seeding awards are attached to a contract for an active and continual engagement in governance, which includes our own support on entrepreneurial guidance. All this is supported by science and technological innovation for e-governance, plus an elite approach to youth capacity development and gender-balanced opportunity engagement initiatives. |
KCEP's Vision
It is because almost every Kenyan is culpable of corruption, often times shifting the blame to some imaginary leaders while actually abdicating our own civic responsibility for an ideal nation, that we came up with the Mkataba Wa Mwananchi Wa Kenya™ (The Kenyan Citizenry Contract) to help recalibrate our mindset, and to formulate afresh our civic responsibilities! |
KCEP’s vision is driven by our U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registered trademark, Mkataba Wa Mwananchi Wa Kenya™ (The Kenyan Citizenry Contract). This matrix is based on six basic elements:
The underlying story of our vision is that just like in most developing societies, corruption has led to a massive disruption of sustainable economic growth in Kenya. At KCEP we truly believe that corruption is not only bad for the economy and the advancement of democracy in Kenya, but that it is certainly very bad for the nation’s moral fabric. We also understand that ideal economic governance works only when those at the receiving end work for it. For this to happen, we plan to provide the necessary tools and guidance to our most vulnerable players in economic governance. We plan to do this using a top-down/bottom-up strategy that engages all the stakeholders. |
KCEP's Overall Objectives
|
Some may maintain that one may never fully eliminate corruption as it is a human trait, … but, … because of the manner in which it has critically disrupted the lives of innocent Kenyans, doing just that and thereby being the first persons to have ever done so, is worth making it our target! |
